Our new made right here in New England neutral safety switch/speed control locator and travel lever detent.  For most Case Ingersoll series requiring C28003 / C28002 / C23002, C21988 as this is most years and models of 200/400 series.  Real early 200/400 and extremely late 200/400 series use a different style switch/detent. THIS WILL NOT WORK ON TRACTORS WITH PLASTIC DASH'S OR ANY 3000 4000 MODEL
By replacing this switch you can fix your faulty neutral safety switch on your tractor.  If your wiring and safety circuit is correct but you are having starting issues with your tractor either not attempting to engage the starter or starting in gear because of rewiring safety switch replacement is recommended.  BUT ALSO, A REAL BENEFICIAL REASON TO REPLACE THIS SWITCH IS BECAUSE OF THE LEVER DETENTS. 
 
This switch helps keep your travel lever in place when set at your desired speed.  If your tractor 'comes out of gear' or the travel lever creeps it is very possible your detents are worn.  When engaging your travel lever you should have to push down slightly on the lever itself and you should feel very pronounced and defiant grooves/detents as you are moving your travel lever forward and in reverse. If you don't, this piece is probably worn and definitely should be replaced.  Also, if your tractor has jumpy engagement in forward and reverse, uneven  forward and reverse speeds or doesnt stay 'in gear', or if you have to hold the travel lever to maintain speed we highly recommend purchasing our heavy duty custom made travel control linkage kit HERE for more information.  Linkage Kit options are available to add to your chart at time of check out from this product page as well.

    It broke the first time I used it because the forward side mount was too short causing excessive force as the detent lever moved, and ultimately a break.

    This is the first time of us ever hearing about 1 breaking that wasn't decades and decades old,this same product has been used on tractors for over 50 years I've never seen an issue with them. That said there are manufacturing defects from time to time on items as well as installation causes we would love to get to the bottom of this if you can contact us so we can get this issue resolved for you and so we can get to the bottom of it. To our knowledge this product has not been changed nor has the material or the sourcing front for it since it's been made more than 50 years and we have sold hundreds. This is also the first time that we've heard about you having an issue with this it would have been nice if you reached out to us FIRST so we could have found a solution before posting a negative review to harm a small business.. it's hard to understand why it's more common nowadays for people to take the effort to post a negative review in public if they are really concerned about an issue then to put the effort forth the effort FIRST in contacting customer service to actually resolve the issue?
