  • 6000 Series Loaders/backhoes | Case Ingersoll Tractors Northeast | Connecticut

Case Ingersoll Tractors Northeast LLC - Sales, Kits, Parts, Tractors, Restorations, Photos, History, Information, and More 6000 SERIES LOADERS & BACKHOES INGERSOLL 6018/6020 LOADER The 6018 replaced the 648 loaders. The 6018 was offered with the P218 Onan engine and then The Kohler Command 18 horsepower, 39 cubic inch, 2 cylinder engine. Like the 648 the 6018 came standard with power steering and a rear PTO valve. The 6020 was sold for less time than the 6018 and there were far fewer sold. The 6020 was a 6018 with a 20-horsepower Honda or Kohler. The 6018 was a popular and well-respected machine. INGERSOLL 6018/6020 BACKHOE The 6018/6020 backhoe was a great loader and backhoe. A very capable and practical piece of equipment. The backhoe was a "Woods" style backhoe. It was lighter and a little more operator-friendly as the technology was roughly 20 years newer than the rugged time-tested D100 used on the 648/646 backhoes. The 4x4 version would be the 7020 model.

We are always adding parts all the time to the site. (99% of the time if the part is on this site it IS IN STOCK ) W e have a huge inventory of common fast moving parts in stock and ship 6 days a week to US and Canada! For non common parts we can have many, many current and older stock parts available in 2 or 3 days most times. So be sure to ask us for what parts you need that are not listed on our site **PLEASE NOTE WHEN SUPPLY CHAIN AND OR QUALITY ISSUES ARE PRESENT WE MAY SUBSTITUTE PARTS OF THE BEST POSSIBLE QUALITY WE CAN (OFTEN BETTER THAN OEM), WE DO THIS WHEN WE HAVE TO, AND RESERVE THE RIGHT TO DO SO. WE DO THE BEST WE CAN TO KEEP YOU UP AND RUNNING AND TRY TO KEEP THE PRICE FAIR AS WELL.** Parts are only a piece of our business along with service and sales of equipment. Our pricing policy is simple SOMETIMES we may not be the lowest-priced option for a few reasons but many times we are. BUT when we may not be consider the following..... ONE- The garden tractor, more specifically the Case Ingersoll community is small. To the point, we are friends with many of the other dealers/distributors/dismantlers/collectors etc. We choose to get some of our parts from a select couple trusted other Case Ingersoll dealers with "good" reputations and business practices, intentionally to help support them and keep our community going strong. So when you buy from us you are also often buying and helping support the other dealers/distributors out there! As we do move a VERY LARGE volume of parts daily. We also buy directly from the source/manufactures of parts. WE CONTINUE TO BUILD OR HAVE BUILT TO OUR HIGH STANDARDS MANY, MANY PARTS AND UPGRADES MADE RIGHT HERE IN THE USA . As Quality, Quality Control, Value/Price and Service of original replacement parts as of late leaves a lot to be desired, and we will not sell items that do not meet OUR high standards and expectations! We are just not parts suppliers, As we actually work on dozens of these machines every month. We actually know what it takes, and what works and lasts and what does not or will not. So you can trust that what we sell is what we use and know and stand behind. TWO- Parts are only a part of our business model. You will also notice that many small single parts are not "listed on our site. We put together many full and complete kits to make it simple for the customer to do a job completely without having to worry about "if they found and ordered ALL the many correct parts they need." We did the hard work of looking up all the part numbers, installing them to make sure they are complete and work first. Then we offer them in a "kit" that is basically click, pay and get a box of joy with everything you should need for a job. These kits we put together and offer are the same ones we use in our shop & on our personal machines and now offer these kits to you. Most are not available as kits anywhere else. Many are upgraded/improved parts or components only we have sourced or have manufacture for us exclusively. Another reason for not listing every small part is as a small business, for us to inventory and individually shelf each small part, pull and ship small orders it is not practical or cost-effective for us to do so. It takes a lot of time to list each part on the website too. So this is why we do not offer a full catalog of parts on the website but instead have these smaller parts included and stocked as "kits." But if you have parts not seen on our site we are happy to get you prices and availability as we have or have access to all available new Case Ingersoll parts as well as we have a huge inventory of many used & some no longer available parts. We also have the ability to make, machine or fabricate needed parts when it makes sense. THREE - We have figured that we spend on average 10 to 15 hours a week or more helping people with issues with their tractors. Either on social media- groups/posts/private messages, Forums, Emails, and many, many phone calls. Every minute we are doing this it is taking time away from us making money working on customers' machines or getting orders out. As well as many after work hours communications taking away family time. This IS A LOT of time that we are not getting paid for. We are always happy to help. We know that many people would not work 1 hour a week let alone 15 or more and not get paid for it. So, we would hope that those we help, would support us and they appreciate the help, advice, and money we save them by troubleshooting and giving advice. And that they would buy the parts and supplies from us, and that the little higher cost for SOME parts far offsets the VALUE & help we provide and money & time we save them. As well the value people get from our You Tube how to, trouble shooting, install and all other videos we produce is considered when choosing who you do business with. Our suburb reputation for not only our before, but our after "the sale" customer service speaks to all of this. When advice, install questions or any issues arise we are here for our customers, many times even after hours we try to respond to those in need as often as we can and hope all see the great VALUE in this! PRICE SHOPPING- With all the above mentioned realize if you are trying to find the very lowest price all the time we "might" not be it every item, realize it takes us time to look up part prices and availability of parts not listed. Most times we have to make calls, as in today's world prices can literally change weekly. ALSO to our knowledge we are the ONLY Case Ingersoll Site and likely of similar sites for garden equipment that offers any FREE SHIPPING. We have Free Shipping on many Items where we can. When buying from us you are not only supporting a small American Family Business, you not only know you are getting top quality products and support, you also do not have to pay the many fees, taxes, tariffs etc of those large E commerce, big box stores and very large corporate sites where you are only a number and not a valued individual customer and friend as you are here! So please consider this and our pricing policies when asking for parts prices and availability. We kindly ask you to be serous in following through with your purchase from us please if we are researching part needs for you. Thank You we appreciate any and all business and support.

  • 600 Series Loaders/backhoes | Case Ingersoll Tractors Northeast | Connecticut

Case Ingersoll Tractors Northeast LLC - Sales, Kits, Parts, Tractors, Restorations, Photos, History, Information, and More CASE INGERSOLL MINI REAL CONSTRUCTION LOADERS AND BACKHOES Handy little loader 644 LOADER The 644 was the smallest mini-construction loader offered by Case. It was powered by the Kohler "K" 14 horsepower single engine. It is a great machine for the homeowner, and homestead situation. Being a heavier loader the 644 can get the job done, just a bit slower and not those extreme jobs, as the 14-horse engine can be pushed to its limits in this machine. Now that said it is still far more capable than many of the competitor machines with loaders added to them. Besides being lower horsepower its biggest downfall along with the 646 is not having powering steering. Though many owners do not find it a big deal as they do turn well especially when moving, once one uses a power steering model no one ever wants to go back. There seem to be a few backhoes 644 made but they are very rare and were not made for long or many of them. DO NOT LET THE SIZE FOOL YOU! 646 LOADER The 646 shocked many with its incredible capabilities it truly was a mini commercial loader. With its big heavy cast iron Onan CCK 16.5 horsepower engine that made lots of torque. Some 646 are seen with Onan "B" Series engines, 16 horsepower. These machines offered impressive digging and lifting capabilities. The capabilities were similar if not better than some of the skid steers and small tractors of the same era. Because of this, they were very popular with municipalities, institutions, campuses, landscapers, farmers, cemeteries, warehouses, septic companies, etc. Then and now the 646 is a popular machine and many hang on to them and when they come up for sale they sell very, very fast! If you want one and see one, grab it! Or you will lose it! Cadillac Jack 648 LOADER Ah the 648, the 648 was everything the 646 was and MORE. The 648 was powered by a "B" Series Onan 18 horsepower 2-cylinder engine. It came standard with power steering and a big hydraulic pump. Also standard was a holding valve and rear PTO valve. Another improvement was the wider front tires and stance as well as a lower high-range gear. These were some of the changes the 648 had over previous models. It could be equipped with 3 point hitch like the other loaders as well. The 648 replaced both the 644 and 646 as the Loader offered by Case Ingersoll and was released in 1980. This small footprint machine weighed around 1,300 lbs to around 2,000 lbs with added weight! Endless possibilites and profit 646 BACKHOE The 646 BH was the same machine as the 646 loaders but with the backhoe option, not just any backhoe, but a true commercial heavy-duty backhoe. The D100 made by Davis, this backhoe was used on lots of equipment and was the same backhoe offered on skid steers, adapted to 3 points for big farm tractors, and also the same used on the smaller models of the full-size Case construction backhoes and small crawlers. The backhoe package was not just the hoe but a full undercarriage sub-frame under the whole 646 as well as mid and front counterweights and its own dedicated hydraulic circuit to make it a true backhoe machine, unlike others that just bolted to the rear or 3-point. "Honey we shrunk the famed Case 580" 648 BACKHOE Well-designed and built by those who make the famed Case 580 full-size backhoe, the 648 really does follow in the same footsteps and reputation. It is the same platform as the 648 loaders but with the added D100 backhoe package as described under the 646. The backhoe package also included wider rear axles, bigger axles, a webbed gusseted rear end, wider rims, and 12-inch wide tires! This helped make the machine more stable but also added weight distribution and better flotation for a machine that weighed 2,750 to roughly 3,500 lbs! Depending on added ballast. This machine was loved by all that used them and in countless industries, as they were smaller than almost any commercial machine out there but could do the same work as some of bigger size. They could get into more locations and tighter places, do less damage and be hauled to more places where bigger trucks or trailers could not go. They hold their value very well and when come up for sale go VERY fast!

  • 3000 Series | Case Ingersoll Tractors Northeast

Case Ingersoll Tractors - Sales, Kits, Parts, Tractors, Restorations, Photos, History, Information, and More Meet The Low Profile Small Wheel Team 3000 Series The Baby of the small guys INGERSOLL 3010 The 3010 replaced the 220 and was powered by a 10-horsepower Kohler 1-cylinder engine. Though it was only produced for roughly a year it is thought that they had 10 horsepower engines in inventory to use up. It's said some had the "K" Series and some had the upgraded "Magnum" series engines. We have never had one here in person as they are not a common model. The market Ingersoll was intending to target at this time, there were no buyers wanting 10 horsepower machines. Though back in the day 10 horsepower was standard for working machines. But, in the 90's it was considered low and made for a hard machine to market for the price of these high-quality high-end machines. The 3010 was recommended to be used with a 38-inch mower, 38-inch snow blower, and 44-inch plow blade. GOOD ENTRY MODEL GARDEN TRACTOR INGERSOLL 3012 The 3012 had a lot in common with the 3010, it was powered by the single-cylinder 12 horsepower Kohler "Magnum" early on and was switched to the new Briggs & Stratton "Vanguard" V-Twin cylinder 12.5 horsepower. The 3012 stuck around a few years longer than the 3010 but was cut from the model line for basically the same reasons the 3010 did not sell well in the current market for the times. Though most 3000 series models were basically all the same besides the engine and engine horsepower, it was very clear the market wanted big power machines no matter in lawnmowers, farm tractors, cars, trucks, semis, etc. the "horsepower war of progression" is constantly going on. Don't you know bigger is better! The 3012 was recommended to be used with a 38-inch mower though would run a 44-inch deck. The 38-inch snow blower and 44-inch plow blade were nice fits. THE MIDDLE CHILD INGERSOLL 3014 The 3014 also had a bit in common with the 3010/3012, it was powered by the single-cylinder 14 horsepower Kohler "Magnum" early on and was also switched to the new Briggs & Stratton "Vanguard" V-Twin cylinder 14 horsepower along the way. The 3014 lasted a good bit longer, though longer than the 3010/3012 but was eventually dropped from production as the higher horsepower models were selling faster and it was not making sense to inventory all the different horsepower engines. The 3014 was recommended to be used with 38-inch and 44-inch mower decks. The 38-inch snow blower and 44-inch plow blade were happy combinations. GARDEN TRACTORS START HERE! INGERSOLL 3016 The 3016 was the holdout and eventually became the lowest horsepower garden tractor Ingersoll offered and we feel this was a good move. 16 horsepower is really the lowest a garden tractor should be rated. Many of those still buying the Case Ingersoll machines were using them for much more than just mowing grass. And whether the buyers were gardeners, homeowners, institutions, municipalities, farms, or commercial users, their jobs required the bigger attachments offered to save time and get the job done as efficiency was now the name of the game for profit and bragging rights in the neighborhood or field! The 3016 was originally offered with the updated powerful Onan "Performer" P216 2 cylinder 16 horsepower Industrial engine power plant. This engine produces plenty of power to make stuff happen! Eventually, the US EPA would put an end to a dynasty of the big powerful valve in head opposing cylinder Onan engines. And The 16 horsepower V-Twin Briggs & Stratton Vanguard would be used in place. Though both 16 horsepower the Briggs a great engine in its own right was no Onan and did not make the low-end power the Beefy Onan's did. But the Vanguards used less fuel doing the light-duty tasks. For heavy tasks, it could be said they used more fuel as they worked harder to get the jobs done. The 4016 could be fitted to run 44, 48, and 60-inch mower decks, the 38 or 48 Snow Castors, the heavy-duty 44 or massive 54-inch utility dozer blades, and any other attachments that were available from Case Ingersoll. For very heavy work, the 16-horsepower machines are the minimum one wants in our opinion. BIG DOG OF THE LOW PRO'S... KIND OF INGERSOLL 3018 The 3018 was a great model and very versatile! Like the others early on it was powered by the Big 48 cubic inch Onan's and later the 34 cubic inch Vanguards were used both being 18 horsepower. But as the saying goes for pure power there is no replacement for displacement. That said though the Onan's took more fuel to feed those bigger combustion chambers. The 3018 could take any of the attachments available and handle them, all very well and even being a low-profile small tire machine they could work side by side with the Big Wheel models 90 percent of the time. For many, this was the best of both worlds you have the big power like many of the Big Wheel models but have it in a more compact package that sat lower to the ground if that was what you were looking for. WERE THEY ACTUALLY PRODUCED?? INGERSOLL 3020 Well, I guess technically the 3020 was the true "Big Dog of the small wheel low pros. With its big powerful 2 cylinders 20 horsepower Onan, the same engine as the 18 horsepower Performer Onan with just a different cam and bigger specked carb. BUT, there are so few of these out there that many have never even seen them! They only came with Onan's and were the same tractor always as the 3018 but with a 20-horse engine. We would guess there was 1 of these in at least every 100 of the other models that's how rare they were. And at some point, most of those looking for the real high Horsepower machines were also looking for bigger machines as well for those bigger tasks and would opt for the big wheel series machines.

  • Changes through the years | Case Ingersoll Tractors Northeast

Case Ingersoll Tractors Northeast LLC - Sales, Kits, Parts, Tractors, Restorations, Photos, History, Information, and More Changes Through The Years Addition of Built in Holding Valves In order to keep the tractor from freewheeling downhill at any speed there was a separate add-on holding valve that could be added but starting in the late 70s it became an option from the dealer. In the mid 80's they began using a travel control valve that had the holding valve built into the travel control valve. Change to Larger Fenders The original tractors had the 'elephant ear' fenders. As time went on they became more full, and eventually complete fenders over a few different style changes. The newest models have full fenders that will meet the floorboard of the tractor making a full operator's platform. Engine Placement Rotated 180 Degrees With the 3000/4000/6000 series, the engine flywheel was spun 180 degrees. Before engine air was blown on the owner, many did not mind it in the winter as it kept the operator warm especially if a cab was installed. But In the summer it could get hot Changed from Short Frame to Long Frame In 1980 with the addition of the 448 they added 2 inches to the frame of the big wheel series making it a 'long' frame. It was done so that the 60-inch deck could be mounted under the tractor - it also does make it a bit nicer to get on and off too! Webbed Rear End The Latest models will have the "webbed and gusseted" rear end that was previously only used on the Backhoe Loaders because of its added strength and weight. In the early 2000's it was also used on all 3000/4000/6000/7000 series models. It was stronger but more likely much easier and overall cheaper to warehouse a single-style rear for production and cost advantages. Other 3000/4000/6000 Changes With the 3000/4000/6000 series, an electric PTO for belt drive was used instead of the previously used manual engaged style. Because of engine position being spun now changing belt direction rotation, the mower deck discharge was now on the right side. Now the Hydraulic PTO valve option was located under the seat instead of on the fender. Power Steering was also now an option!

Payment Methods Parts Policy And Our Pricing Strategy We offer many new custom kits & parts for sale along with many NEW & USED common parts and ones that we stock and use frequently here in our shop. We are always adding parts all the time to the site. We do not stock a "full" catalog of Case Ingersoll parts as we do not currently have the facilities to warehouse every Case Ingersoll part in our physical inventory. Though we have a lot of parts in stock and ship 6 days a week to US and Canada. BUT we can have many, many current and older stock parts available in 2 or 3 days most times. So be sure to ask us for what parts you need that are not listed on our site **PLEASE NOTE WHEN SUPPLY CHAIN ISSUES ARE PRESENT WE MAY SUBSTITUTE PARTS OF THE BEST POSSIBLE QUALITY WE CAN (SOMETIMES BETTER THEN OEM) WE ONLY DO THIS WHEN WE HAVE TO, AND RESERVE THE RIGHT TO DO SO. EITHER WE DO THIS OR THE OTHER OPTION IS TO NOT OFFER THE PARTS FOR SALE. SO WE DO THE BEST WE CAN TO KEEP YOU UP AND RUNNING AND TRY TO KEEP THE PRICE FAIR AS WELL. THANKS FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING.** Parts are only a piece of our business along with service and sales of equipment. Our pricing policy is simple some times we may not be the lowest-priced option for a few reasons. BUT..... ONE The garden tractor and more specifically the Case Ingersoll community is small. We do not see anyone as or want to be in "competition" with anyone. To the point, we are friends with many of the other dealers and distributors. We choose to get our parts from multiple other Case Ingersoll dealers and distributors intentionally to help support them and keep our community strong and keep them going too. As we move a very large volume of parts, we sometimes also buy directly from the source and or manufactures. So when you buy from us you are also buying and helping support the other multiple other dealers/distributors out there! We are not out here to take business away but the opposite as our hope is this website will bring in new customers for both us and those we buy parts from and expose many more to the Case Ingersoll brand! TWO You will also notice that we do offer some single small parts, but we put together many full and complete kits to make it simple for the customer to do a job completely without having to worry about "if they found and ordered ALL the correct parts they need." We did the hard work of looking up all the part numbers, installing them to make sure they are complete and work first, then offer them in a kit that is basically click, pay and get a box of everything you should need for a job. These kits we put together and offer are the same ones we use in our shop and now offer these kits to you. Most are not available as kits anywhere else. THREE We have figured that we spend on average 10 to 15 hours a week or more helping people with issues with their tractors. Either on FaceBook groups/posts/private messages, Forums, Emails, and many phone calls. Every minute we are doing this it is taking time away from us making money working on customers' machines or getting orders out as well as many after work hours communications taking away family time. This IS A LOT of time that we are not getting paid for. We know that many people would not work 1 hour a week let alone 15 or more and not get paid for it. So, we would hope that those we help doing this, would support us and they appreciate the help, advice, and money we save them by trouble shooting and giving advice. And that they would buy the parts and supplies from us and that the little higher cost for some parts far offsets the help we provide and money we save them. And the value people get from our You Tube how to, trouble shooting, install and all other videos we produce is considered when choosing who you do business with. As well as with our suburb reputation for not only our before, but our after "the sale" customer service. When advice, install questions or any issues arise we are here for "our customers" many times, even after hours we try to respond to those in need as often as we can and hope all see the great value in this! FOUR Parts are only a part of our business model and you will notice we do not list many smaller parts, one reason for this is we are a small business with only 1 to 2 people here so for us to carry the overhead, pull and ship small orders it is not practical or cost-effective for us to do so at this time. So this is why we do not offer a full catalog of parts on the website and offer what we do on the site. But if you have multiple parts not on our site or more expensive parts you need not on site we are happy to get them for you as we have access to all available new Case Ingersoll parts as well as many used & some no longer available parts. PRICE SHOPPING With all the above mentioned realize if you are trying to find the very lowest price all the time we might not be it, realize it takes us time to look up parts prices and availability as most times we have to make calls as in today's world prices can literally change weekly so please consider this and our pricing policies when asking for parts prices and availability of those not listed on our sites we kindly ask you to be serous in following through with your purchase from us please. Thank You we appreciate any and all business and support ! WE ARE STRONG SUPPORTERS OF USA-MADE, SMALL BUSINESSES AND OUR MILITARY AND VETERANS. We are proud and honored to support those that have or are serving in the military of the USA! We thank each of you and your families for your service! Be sure to mention to us when in person that you are military. We try and support small businesses and veteran-owned businesses any time we can and when possible and makes sense we try to use and buy USA products whenever we are able! • When You First Get Your Tractor Home | Case Ingersoll Tractors

Case Ingersoll Tractors Northeast LLC - Sales, Kits, Parts, Tractors, Restorations, Photos, History, Information, and More WHEN YOU FIRST GET YOUR TRACTOR HOME This section is for you new tractor owners and specifically new Case Ingersoll owners, BUT can be very helpful as many of the things can be used also on all other brands and models of garden tractors. This is mostly for tractors you do NOT know the history, what work or maintenance was done recently etc. But there are some things everyone should do when first bringing their new to them machine home FIRST TIME BRINGING MACHINE HOME CHECK LIST Some things you really should do when bringing any machine home for the first time if you are not aware of when the last time, or if these things have ever been done. Change Engine Oil Make sure you use the correct high-quality engine oil. Many 15-40 Diesel or 20-50 Racing oils are good choices in many climates. In the cold let the machine warm up for at least 5 mins. 5-40, and 15-40 diesel oils are great choices as are 5-50, 20-50, 15-40 and 15-50 synthetic or conventional Racing oils with high Zinc. We only use 15-50 synthetic or 20-50 synthetic racing oil in Briggs Vanguard engines. Kohlers and Onans we use all of the above options. Choose best oil for the average temp the engine STARTS in, not runs in also not your areas average temp. Example if stored inside, use the inside temp where its starts. If it get 0 degrees where you are, but you never START it when it is 0, but most times you start it outside when its 28 out and snowing then 28 is the temp range to use when selecting oil.. Synthetic oils are better in very cold and with very hot engine temps. . Synthetic oil is also a great choice and WATCH VIDEO HERE FOR MORE INFO ON OIL AND CHANGING THE ENGINE OIL. CHANGE THE HYDRAULIC OIL It is very important to have the correct oil in the hydraulic system of these machines and that the oil is clean! MOTOR OIL IS what is used in the hydraulic system of ALL Case Ingersoll Tractors. Typical hydraulic/hydraulic trans oil etc are NOT to be used! We recommend 15-40 diesel oils, 20-50, 15-50 oil. Synthetics are better in very cold and very hot temps so 5-40 diesel engine oil is a good choice in extremely hot and cold climates too. As is 5-50 racing oil. If using 15-40, 15-50 or 20-50 allow more time for warm-up in the very cold as these oils perform great but are very thick when cold and need to get up to temp before operating. Be sure to only use OEM or the only non-OEM high-quality Wix filter we have found spec'd to OEM numbers on these machines available in our store. There are many places selling other filters and using other non-OEM filters on these machines and they are incorrect specs and can cause damage and issues. The black non-Case Ingersoll filters being sold are NOT to spec, they may be good quality filters for their original use but are not a good choice here for the hydraulics. You only have to change the hydro fluid every 200 to 500 hours! To save $10 once every 5 or 10 years is foolish as to the hundreds or thousands it can cost you by using the wrong filter. FOR LOTS MORE INFO ON THE OIL AND HOW TO CHANGE THE HYDRO FLUID ON CASE INGERSOLL WATCH THE VIDEO HERE CHECK BRAKE OPERATION AND CONDITION Make sure your brakes work, if not figure out why. Is it an adjustment? Lack of brake lining material? Linkage issues? The brakes should lock the rear wheels right up when applied fully and bring the travel lever into neutral on the dash at the same time to halt all movement. FULL TUNE UP ON ENGINE We highly recommend doing a full tune-up on the engine before putting the machine into service. This way you can get a good assessment of how it is truly running and if it has bigger issues than simple tune-up parts. It also can prevent engine damage by making sure your fluids and filters are clean and full. That your spark plugs are new and correct and that the ignition system is functioning correctly. It also will make sure you get the most power and the best fuel efficiency and burn as clean as it can for you guys concerned about keeping things green. We have full tune-up kits available for each engine model where we did the leg work putting together all the things you need with quality parts into one simple and complete kit. We use and tested these kits you can purchase them at our store here . Also, watch the videos below for each specific make and model engine you have. YouTube Play List Engin Tune Up Videos DECARBON & ADJUST ENGINE VALVES We highly recommend doing a full de-carbon and adjusting the engine valves before putting the machine into service. This is very important and can save the engine from catastrophic engine failure as well as make it run much, much better overall. This intimidates many but really is pretty straightforward and easy and not very costly. We sell the full master tune-up kits that include the gaskets needed to do this and have videos linked below on how to do this task. It is possible and fairly common that excessive carbon buildup inside the engine can blow an engine. As the carbon builds up eventually the piston makes contact with the head and or valves and very bad, expensive things happen. Also, valves that are out of adjustment will cause all kinds of performance, running, and engine issues. 85% of the machines we deal with have the valves out of adjustment and in roughly 50% of them, the engines run significantly better after de-carbon and valve adjustment. Also, watch the videos below for each specific make and model engine you have. Click to get to our YouTube tune-up playlist CHECK TIRE CONDITION AND PRESSURE Yes, a very simple thing but often overlooked. Besides the obvious reasons for dealing with leaking or near future leaking aggravation as far as condition goes. Correct tire pressure is important in lawn and garden tractors for 2 main reasons. Traction is one, under, and fully inflated tire pressure effect traction poorly. Most times depending on load and tire itself running tire PSI at 1/2 to 3/4 max PSI rating is ideal for most situations. The other major factor with inflation is the quality of mower cut and snow removal. If your tires are not inflated from left to right equally your mower deck will cut unevenly and or poorly as will your snow plow/blower will not perform the best and can wear the plow or blower cutting edges unevenly. CHECK OVER ELECTRICAL & WIRING Check for obvious wire or electrical component damage. Broken wires, spliced wires, taped wires, chewed-on wires, etc. These all should be addressed sooner than later you do not want your new machine to burn up before you get a chance to use and play with it. CHECK OVER HYDRAULIC HOSES & BELTS CONDITION Check for obvious damages, wear, rub marks, etc. Make sure connections are tight. Also, you will want to make sure your machine has hydraulic fittings and NOT pipe fittings. Replace hoses and fittings if any major wear or damage is present. Make sure belts look in good condition with no wear spots, cracks, brakes etc. CHECK FOR BELT PTO ADJUSTMENT AND OPERATION Check the front PTO adjustment space and operation if an attachment is present. Watch the video below for quick field adjustment or the full rebuild video for a better understanding of the PTO. HERE CHANGE REAR END OIL Make sure you use the correct high-quality oil. This is a very easy job to do and well worth the small cost. You can use the same 15-40 Diesel or 20-50, etc engine oils you use in your engine or hydros to keep it simple or you can use true "gear oil" of 75, 80, 90 up to 140 weight. Standard or synthetic oils are fine. We fill all rears with roughly 3 quarts of oil. Depending on the model and year the manual shows different amounts. We feel that using 3 quarts is best. It helps with condensation and moisture dilution/contamination, corrosion issues, and cooling and keeps all the parts lubed and covered for sure. The different amounts listed in the manuals vary and our feeling is the rear ends themselves between years and models do not vary much at all, just maybe the work they are doing. Watch the video on changing the rear-end fluid on Case Ingersolls here.

  • 4000 Series | Case Ingersoll Tractors Northeast

Case Ingersoll Tractors Northeast LLC - Sales, Kits, Parts, Tractors, Restorations, Photos, History, Information, and More Meet The Iconic 4000 Big Wheel Fleet Mr. POPULAR INGERSOLL 4016 The Ingersoll 4016 is arguably the most popular 4000 Series machine. It is the lowest horsepower model in the 4000 series. Though a 4014 with a single cylinder Kohler Magnum made a brief appearance. The 4016 was the lowest priced 4000 so that played a big part in its popularity as it may have fit in more budgets of buyers who "HAD TO HAVE a big wheel model no matter what they had to do to find the funds. Plenty capable of any task or attachments Case Ingersoll or others brands made, the 4016 could get the job done. Like the 3000 models, the early 4000s had the big Onans in them, to begin with, and then switched to the Briggs Vanguards and the 4016 was no different as both its Onan and Briggs power plants were 16 horsepower respectably. The 4016 is an excellent choice for mowing large yards and home snow removal duties as it's a great all-around machine. THE MIDDLE CHILD INGERSOLL 4018 The Ingersoll 4018 was the spitting image of its little brother the 4016 but with 2 horsepower more, it also saw both the Onan and Briggs take over under its hood. Being the "middle child it was often overlooked or passed by as it was out of the price range for some and for those with deeper pockets they wanted the big brother 4020. The 4018 was no slouch though and excelled with the extra power when it came to being put into hard work and was not bothered being pushed to do harder tasks such as massive snow removal, spreading gravel with a 54-inch blade, or mowing a field that has not been touched in months! THE FOREMAN OF GARDEN TRACTORS 4020 Big wheels and Big power! The 4020 was what many of the competition only dreamed of being able to hold a candle to. The 4020 was powered only by the torque monster, a massive 48 cubic inch, 2-cylinder opposing twin cylinder ONAN Performer P220, 20 horsepower engine. There was not much that the 4020 could not do and that's the truth, it was capable of work that tractors in a class or 2 above were doing. The 4020 never said "NO". If you wanted a machine that would make short time out of big jobs and put a smile on the operator's face then the 4020 and its variants were the top choices that never let down. Though yes only 4 horsepower more than the 4016 which equated to 25% more power!

Case Ingersoll Tractors Northeast LLC - Sales, Kits, Parts, Tractors, Restorations, Photos, History, Information, and More POWER STEERING MODELS THESE ARE SOME OF THE POPULAR POWER STEERING MODELS Other models not pictured- 3016PS, 4016PS, 3021PS, 4021PS, 4023PS, 4221PS, 4223PS INGERSOLL 3018 POWER STEERING The 3018 Power steering is the same basic machine as the 3018, but with power steering, along with the power steering comes a bigger hydraulic pump as well to feed the power steering system. This was the popular model in the 3000 low-profile series. All power steering models were Onan powered as to handle the bigger pumps used and the load placed on the engine. ( The last generation 4021-23 AND 4221-23 were offered in PS and used Big Block Vanguards 21 & 23 horsepower.) INGERSOLL 4018 POWER STEERING The 4018 power steering was a popular option for those that wanted the big wheel models and power steering but did not want to spend what a 4020 PS cost. Again the same machine as a 4018 but with PS and the bigger hydraulic pump. INGERSOLL 4020 PS The Ingersoll 4020 PS was the Flagship model for many years. It was the big dog, we find many were outfitted with the hydraulic PTO option and the 3-point hitch option. Those that bought the 4020 PS wanted all the bells and whistles and the cost seemed not to be a concern for many 4020 PS buyers. Interesting to note all 4020 PS were Onan powered as were all 4020 models. But When the later version generation GT black frame models were released they all had been switched to Vanguards for a while by then, but the Black frame 4020 PS GT was still powered by the Onan P220. The Power red 4020 was very popular and we see many. But the Black frame GT is not very common. We are lucky enough to own a few. The 4020 PS model is our favorite 4000 series model.

  • What To Look For When First Buying | Case Ingersoll Tractors Northeast | Andover

Case Ingersoll Tractors Northeast LLC - Sales, Kits, Parts, Tractors, Restorations, Photos, History, Information, and More What To Look For When Buying A Case Ingersoll Tractor Here are just a few things that you should look at on Case Ingersoll machines. The common things you should look at on any machine should be looked at as well but we will not go into those too deeply as there is info out there for those. Basic Common Things To Look At On Any Machine. Some basic things you should check on any machine. FIRST ALWAYS check if it has the correct amount of oil before starting! If the oil is low be cautious, if there is no oil on the stick, then expect the engine has been damaged and should be valued as so. Fill the oil to "full" before starting any engine. Is the oil clean? If oil is blackish, is it normal consistency? If so more than likely needs to be just changed. If it's thicker and sludgy then it probably has not had great maintenance. If it is milky looking it could have water entering into it at some time and could be a concern. It also could be that it sat for a while or has been started but not run long enough to burn off condensation. If it appears a good amount of water is in the oil CHANGE before starting. Does it run and if not do you have proof why not. Does it have compression on all cylinders? If you have a compression gauge, by all means, use this cheap and simple device, if not pull the spark plug for each cylinder, crank over with the starter, and see if you can feel pressure coming out of the spark plug holes? If running, are both engine cylinders actually working if a 2-cylinder machine? You can check with an infrared heat temp gun, they are cheap and easy to use. Both cylinders should be running at the same temp within reason. Check the temperature on both cylinders on the same spot like heads (not heat shield), exhaust pipe is another good place where it comes out of the head. If you do not have a gun you can drip a little water on it and see if it seems to sizzle the same on each side. Be careful as you are dealing with hot areas! If you do not have water you can carefully hold your hand ABOVE not on the exhaust pipe or head for each side. It's hot use your head. Hydraulic Leaks Ok, so it is common that these machines being 15 to 50 years old will have leaks when looking at them. 90 percent of the time this is not a big deal. Most times it is simple o-rings or hoses that need tightening or replacing. But check the hydrulic cooler/radiator for leaks in the metal itself, check the tank, check the pump case itself, etc. These can be a little bigger repairs to keep in mind when pricing. If it's just lines and hoses leaking they are easy to get a hold of, replace, and not overly costly and not a reason to run from a machine but keep it in mind when negotiating a price on the machine. Do You Have Hills? Do you plan on operating your tractor on big hills? If so does the machine you are looking at have a "Holding Valve"? The early Case Ingersoll's "can" freewheel downhill if not operated correctly and can be scary. A holding valve can be added to any Case Ingersoll and it allows the machine to go up or downhill at the speed you started the hill at and not gain or lose speed. A holding valve was built into the Case Ingersoll travel valves and was standard on all machines around the mid-1980s and was an option prior. The valves are available and are straightforward to install. Check Hydraulic Tank & Oil On Case Ingersoll machines, they have a hydraulic tank that holds the oil for the transmission system as well as the lift and attachment power systems. The oil on most models should be 2 to 4 inches from the TOP of the tank neck. Also, the oil should be 15-40, 20-50 or similar ENGINE OIL NOT hydrulic fluid is to be used on the machines. The oil should be very, very clean NO water, Milk, Sludge, Particles, etc. If it is not Motor oil it could have caused some issues or could not. Not being motor oil is not a turn-and-run situation but if there are hydrulic issues it might be the cause. But again, depending on the situation sometimes changing to the correct oil can simply fix some issues. You won't know until you do this so keep this in mind when figuring a price. Also, check the condition of the tank itself for cracks and leaks. Tanks are available and not hard to change and not extremely costly. Check The Hydraulic Functions For those who are new to Case Ingersoll, this all may be unfamiliar to them and intimidating. But it is pretty simple and straightforward. Take it for a ride does it go forward and reverse, does it drive at a pretty consistent rate? Does it go uphill with no issues when the rear end is in low range? If it engages in forward and reverses a bit jumpy that is normally not a big deal but a common small issue. Most times it is just new users to the machines not used to the instant power and operating the machine. The other common reason is worn travel linkage is likely the issue which is a fairly easy and inexpensive fix. It should not be a reason to be alarmed. The tractor should not lurch, buck, etc when in motion. If there is an attachment available to load or work the machine try it out. Raise and lower the hydraulics preferably with an attachment mounted. When you move the attachment does it lift and lower smoothly with no struggle to lift, hold, and lower? Is it fairly constant and fairly fast at lifting? If not, many times, provided the issue is just with the lifting, it may be that just the cylinder could use a simple and inexpensive reseal. If the drive and lift are acting up it could be a bigger issue like a pump issue or could also just need the fluid changed and the CORRECT oil used. Steering Components With the age of many of these machines, the steering can be worn. The good news is all the parts are available and the better news is we sell heavy-duty upgrade complete kits. The common issue is worn axle pins that allow movement in the front axle. The axle should have no forward or back movement when turning the steering wheel or pushing on the tire/axle. BUT, almost all machines do have this play in them from being used, and it is not a deal breaker at all. Also, the rod end on the drag link and tie rods can have play in them. Again, easy replacement and we have upgraded parts for these too. The other part of the system is the steering gears themselves, often they can slip or bind. Many times this is from someone monkeying with them not knowing what they were doing. Lots of time it can be corrected by the parts being installed correctly. Other times the steering gears, mounts, shafts, etc can be worn, also if teeth are missing on the gears then replacement is needed. This repair can take some time and parts can add up a little. But again very doable and not deal breakers but should be considered in the value of the machine. Final Over All Assessment These machines are great and no matter the condition you should not run from them. That said the price has to reflect its condition, and its condition has to reflect your skill set to repair and/or budget to get it repaired. Price ranges on machines GREATLY vary depending mostly on LOCATION over its condition. So we can not give you values of machines in certain conditions as the same machine can literally vary in value by thousands depending on location. That said most models are worth a lot in just parts alone. And these are not your common brand garden tractors or box store lawn tractors and bring much more money. Do not let things like hoses, tires, paint, slight smoke at startup, mufflers, slight motor/valve noise, brakes, electrical, etc. make you run away from a purchase, these items SHOULD NOT. Just be mindful of what you are looking at and how that is reflected in the price. If the machine was serviced and tuned up or recent repairs done by a "qualified" person that also has a fair amount of value and some peace of mind. If getting from a dealer then you can more than likely trust that they did what they said. If a private owner told you they had the work done then ask for receipts if they have them. If they did it themselves then take it with a grain of salt and make your best judgment on their honesty and ability. Remember if work was already done on a machine it could be a benefit for you cost-wise as most shops depending on location charge $75 to $150 per hour and a $100 rate is really common. So any amount of work with parts and labor more than likely cost them $500 to $1,000 or more. That may be reflected in the price they are asking and also should be in one way or another considered in what you are wanting to pay. The bottom line is if everyone is honest and upfront and as long as you are happy with the price you pay and the seller is happy with the price then it is a great transaction. You should not worry about what others buy machines for nor should they be worried about what you paid. If you are happy then enjoy your machine!!!

Far from a restore, but far more than what most do to throw paint on something to sell. We also fixed whatever needed fixing, replaced many parts including a new hydraulic pump, front tires, complete exhaust system and much more. It was fully serviced and tuned and it went off to a great new home running like a top and very presentable!

  • All Projects | Case Ingersoll Tractors Northeast

Case Ingersoll Tractors Northeast LLC - Sales, Parts, Tractors, Service, Restorations, Photos, History, Information, and More Current & Past Projects We have been lucky enough to work on these awesome tractors. We wanted to share with you some of the projects that have come through our shop and some of our own tractors that we plan to keep as part of our fleet for years to come. YOU CAN CLICK ON "SOME" IMAGES FOR MORE PHOTOS OUR PERSONAL CUSTOM CASE 448 HOOD SCOOP This hood scoop is a 1980 CASE 448 that we took down to the frame, sandblasted, epoxy primed and urethane primed, and painted with OEM acrylic enamel Case Power Red and automotive Jet Black Urethane and clear coat it to bring it back to life. This is a working tractor restore and we added our own touches and was not done as a show tractor, but we definitely feel it could hold its own in a show. We added black axles, foot rests, hood scoop, bumper, dash tower, 3 point, pto some custome decals and other accents to make it our "own" as we do with many we paint. We enjoy giving these tractors our own 'flare' while bringing them back to their original look and color at the same time. This 18hp Onan will be a workhorse for us. It is equipped with 3 point hitch, fender mount PTO, loaded ag tires, a holding valve, a selector valve, multiple sets D10 wheel weights in the rear, and a front bumper. OUR CUSTOM 1987 ANNIVERSARY 648 Loader FORK MACHINE This 648 was stripped down to a bare frame, everything removed, sandblasted, epoxy primed, urethane primer OEM Acrylic enamel Case Power Yellow, Automotive Urethane Jet Black, and clear coat. Though these machines were solid yellow or tan, we added all the black to it and feel it makes for a heck of a good-looking machine. It has new hoses, hardware, bushing, joints, wiring, springs, linkages, tires, and much more. This was done as a working machine restore and we added lots of black, additional options and upgrades to this including a late model webbed lower geared rear, and wide flotation kit with wider axles, rims, and tires. We also upgraded to a bigger hydraulic pump, custom LED flush mount lights sitting behind original glass headlight lenses, like new heavy-duty HH34 3-point hitch, holding valve, added our custom spin on hydraulic filter kit, PTO valve, custom black 3-point hitch weight box and stay tuned for more additions and upgrades. This will be our dedicated Fork machine. OUR PERSONAL CUSTOM INGERSOLL 4120 This 4120 all-hydraulic model has been in our fleet for a while and has been our 'go-to' machine for any harder work we need to do. We have some videos of this machine before it was redone on YouTube snow-blowing. We may be biased but we like how it came out. The 4120 has all the add-ons. It has a front bracket with Case suite case weights and rear D10 weights along with a larger set of combine weights outside of them for extra weight with loaded tires. We added both a selector valve and a flow control valve as well. It has the heavy-duty HH34 3point hitch, under seat PTO, power steering and oversized front and rear tires too. Like many other we do this one has added black paint to the dash tower, foot rests, axles, 3 point, weights and more. This was a unplanned work restore, but we had to do some repairs and motor had to come out to do them so we decided it was time to take it down to bare frame and redo it with many, many new parts, new hardware, hoses, linkages and much more. OUR PERSONAL CUSTOM CASE 448 BLACK FRAME 84' This black frame CASE/Ingersoll 448 from 1984 has been sitting here at the shop waiting for us to get a chance to redo it and we are so glad we got to in the summer of 2022. With this BF 448 we also took it down to the frame, sandblasted, epoxy primed and urethane primed and painted with OEM acrylic enamel Case Power Red and automotive Jet Black Urethane and clear coat. OEM Power White Rims and few custom decals and finishing trim touches. The black frame models just have a sharp look to them and the fresh paint really brings it back to life. We plan to keep this 18-horsepower Onan powered jem for some occasional mowing and snow work so we can appreciate this clean look for a long time! Check out our videos on YouTube cleaning up leaves to see it work beautifully with a freshly painted white deck too! Hood Scoop 448 This is a tractor we cleaned up and repainted, fully serviced to bring new life to it. We added some aggressive tires to it and it made for one happy new tractor owner. We really enjoyed this project and the end results. Hood Scoop 448 This is another shot of the 448 that we re-did with a mower deck on ready to get to work. 4120 Ingersoll This is our work horse, it has never told us "NO" to a task yet. It works hard and earns its keep, this is the same tractor pictured above that we were able to redo this past summer. It was always a beast but now its a beauty too!! Customer Tractor - Repaint and Repair 444 This tractor was fun to have at the shop. We did a lot of mechanical work and also had the opportunity to repaint it. It was not a true 'restore' but we were able to bring it back to its glory, sharp looking tractor. This was a fun project for us for a good customer of ours! 4020 Ingersoll The 4020 Ingersoll is such a nice tractor, this one was super clean and the 20 horsepower Onan, you cannot go wrong! Case 446 Cleaned up classic 446 Case 446 This tractor came to us repainted, sharp looking tractor and with a few mechanical repairs it went quickly to a new home. It was one we sold a few years back a couple owners ago and it needed a good bit of work done and the last owner did a nice job on the restoration, Case 444 New paint for this ole 444 Case 444 Older Case 444 that got cleaned up with some of our own touches to the pain scheme Case 446 Repainted with our own touches to bring this 446 back around to its glory Ingersoll 446 Ingersoll 446 with some fresh paint Ingersoll 4020 Clean Ingersoll 4020 that we cleaned up the pait on Case 444 This 444 is one that we painted and did a full tune up on Case 446 Another one of our projects, repainted and tuned up ready to go Hood Scoop 448 When we get a chance to paint a tractor that is not a customers we like to add our own 'touch' to it. This hood scoop we did the actual scoop black, personally we think it makes for a sharp look! Ingersoll 4120 All Hydraulic package that went to a great new home, nice clean machine Case/INGERSOLL 446 Black Frame 1984 This machine was rough when we saved it, it came from a scrap yard! We knew it would be a 446 worth saving that that we did a refresh on with some paint and as always a full tune up and service besides many repairs. Case 446 Some new decals on this 446 with a blower ready to move some sonw CASE 448 This is a late model INGERSOLL 446 we re painted and sold. We added some charcoal metallic paint with orange highlights on the rims to mix things up. It has a cool and unique look. Case INGERSOLL Black Frame 1984 446 Another 446, this one was a black frame that we got to clean up and bring back some original look glory to it.

We do not stock or offer a full catalog of Case Ingersoll parts as we do not currently have the facilities to warehouse more inventory. Parts are only a piece of our business along with service and sales of equipment. Our pricing policy is simple and many times we may not be the lowest-priced option. We do this intentionally for a few reasons. ONE is the garden tractor and more specifically the Case Ingersoll community is small. We do not see anyone as or want to be in "competition" with anyone. To the point, we are friends with many of the other dealers and distributors. We choose to get our parts from other Case Ingersoll dealers and distributors intentionally to help support them and keep our community strong and keep them going even though the volume of parts we go through we could buy directly from the source. So when you buy from us you are also buying and helping support the other multiple other dealers/distributors out there! We are not out here to take business away but the opposite as our hope is this website will bring in new customers for both us and those we buy parts from. TWO, You will also notice that we do offer some single parts but we put together full and complete kits to make it simple for the customer to do a job completely without having to worry about if they found and ordered ALL the correct parts they need. We did the hard work of looking up all the part numbers and putting them in a kit that is basically click, pay and get a box of everything you should need for a job. These kits we put together and offer are the same ones we use in our shop and now offer these kits to you. Most are not available as kits anywhere. THREE, We have figured that we spend on average 10 to 15 hours a week or more helping people with issues with their tractors. Either on FaceBook groups/posts/private messages, Forums, Emails, and many phone calls. Every minute we are doing this it is taking time away from us making money working on customers' machines or getting orders out. This IS A LOT of time that we are not getting paid for. We know that many people would not work 1 hour a week let alone 15 or more and not get paid for it. SO, we would hope that those that we help doing this would support us and appreciate the help, advice, and money we save them by doing this that they would buy the parts and supplies from us and that the little higher cost for some parts far offsets the help we provide. FOUR, parts are only a part of our business model and you will notice we do not list many smaller parts, one reason for this is we are a small business with only 1 to 2 people here so for us to carry the overhead, pull and ship small orders it is not practical or cost-effective for us to do so at this time so this is why we do not offer a full catalog of parts and offer what we do on the site. PRICE SHOPPING with all the above mentioned realize if you are trying to find the lowest price we might not be it, realize it takes us time to look up parts prices and availability as most times we have to make calls as in today's world prices can literally change weekly so please consider this and our pricing policies when asking for parts prices and availability of those not listed on our sites. Thank You we appreciate any and all business and support. 0
